One of my all-time favorite photos---Muhammad Ali defeats Sonny Liston. I just purchased When We Were Kings and remembered this photo. I used to have a framed big wall print. Ali was an underdog in this fight. How inspiring!

Obama's Chances

Obama's world tour was brilliant. Yet, there is still suspicion about his abilities. Yesterday I had lunch with two colleagues, an economist and a sociologist, and they were of the opinion that Obama's days are numbered. The republicans and McCain have gone on a vicious attack. Suddenly the polls have the two candidates almost even. Soon, Obama will not be the darling of those who champion him, they argued. I had to agree with them, knowing as I've posted previously that at any moment things can go bad for Obama---like a cat surrounded by twenty growling pit-bulls.
